After the thrill is gone: Work
A Narrow Band Right Above the Horizon
2024-ongoing
Using personal history to evoke human emotion, I incorporate errors as a dialogue between authenticity and artifice, blending familial memories with those that are imagined. I construct a false archive that merges found, archival, and personal photographs with AI-generated imagery.
In search of fulfillment –the kind Roland Barthes described as an accumulation of excess, and the kind white America finds in Christianity yet denies to queerness and other marginalized groups– I created a scroll of my own myth, drawn from post-human dreams and rooted in utopian religious worlds, seeking self-discovery within this excess of accumulated images.
