Impostores
2018

In Impostores my sexual encounters are the guiding themes through this visual reinterpretation, a portrait en creux that exhibits my desires and tribulations. A suggested narrative is presented through images of photographic prints of my ex-lovers (burnt to hide their faces and create a new image that emphasizes the intrinsic anonymity of homosexual encounters), paired with nude portraits of men whose body parts appear isolated within the frame (evidencing the materiality of the flesh). Bodies that can be disarmed and put together to please my desires, an idea further illustrated with dismembered toy figurines, whose idealized muscular built contrasts with the body shapes of the subjects, and it’s taken to its more abstract form with miniature chairs that mirror human actions and sexual positions.
